E61 530d Central Remote Locking
I have a 2009 530d and both remote keys stopped opening/closing the central remote locking. Initially they stopped working for one day, then worked for a couple of days, and now nothing for the past 2 weeks. I can start the car with the key inserted, and can lock/unlock the drivers door with the key insert. The button on the dash works fine at locking/unlocking all the doors. The Fuel door does not lock, whether or not the doors are locked. Things I've checked:
- diversity antenna is dry, am/fm radio works fine
- I checked continuity of wires between diversity antenna and the wires above the speaker and not breaks in line.
- could not find any burnt fuses. I've heard about fuse 53, but those may have been for older model e61s. Fuse 59 is a 5A for the diversity antenna and that one is fine. Which fuse/relay is for the fuel door actuator?
I think next step is to purchase a diversity antenna, but not sure this would be related to the fuel door actuator (some have suggested this is the problem, but can't find the fuse). Any ideas?
Thanks

Could the famous tailgate wires going thru the hinges which break often also affect this? I thought I'd read in that thread of some who had key fob issues and it wasn't just the diversity module that had crapped out. Have you checked that thread for this?

Thanks - I did check the wires - I pulled the loom through the speaker and there were no breaks. I also connected a tone emitter to the ends of the wires and verified continuity. I wish that were the problem since I went through all the trouble of pulling the wires through and unsheathing them.
Anyone know which fuse is used for the Fuel Door Actuator on a 2009 530d?

Problem fixed. After ruling out the wiring and fuses, I bit the bullet and replaced the diversity antenna, and remote key started working; and the fuel lid now locks.
