I'm thinking about getting a hitch as well. Thinking about the Euro hitch as I'd like to tow a small utility trailer. As for wiring, has anyone considered using the E70 X5 USA wiring kit, seems like parts are interchangeable, and it has a US 4-pin and 7-pin connector.
