X drive staggered wheels and tire size

I am not sure, but I am going to contact the seller today. I'll see whether they fit or not. I just don't want any rubbing. I'll let everyone knows once find out

My Ride: 2010 E60 535 xDrive
Was the original wheel setup on your car non-staggered? I was today by Hendrick BMW that they do not advise going staggered if the original setup was not.
I'm screwed if this is the case because my 2010 E60 XDrive has non-staggered 17" wheels and I just bought a set of staggered BBS Style 71 wheels for it. The difference in width is only a half inch so I guess I could go 245/40-18 all around like my old 2007 E60 Sport Package but I'd rather go 275/35-18 in the rear. That's the standard setup in the XDrive Sport Package with staggered wheels.
The service person at Hendrick BMW said however that the "sport" versions are specialy tuned for the staggered setup and compensations for the slight variation in diameter. But since mine is a non-sport version, I shouldn't mess with it.
Thoughts from people with experience in this exact matter? It still has a CPO so I don't want to void any warranty either.

Your service advisor is clueless. The sport version of the XDrive models is purely cosmetic and was available with both 17" square and 18" staggered setups. There is no issue in going to a staggered setup as long as you keep the difference in overall tire diameter within 1% front to rear

Thanks biz77. Noticed you're in Spokane. I used to live in Othello for about a year and used to drive to Moses, Tri-Cities or even all the way to Spokane if I wanted to get some civilization

all I know is I have an x-drive and I would not risk it. the threat/risk of transmission or AWD problems is not worth any possible risk. square setup for me. still sexy with nice rims...

Your choice, but again BMW offers the car with a staggered option so that should put your mind at ease. There is nothing else changed on the car with this option. Furthermore, there are MANY people running staggered setups on many different AWD BMWs with no problems. The only concern is that the front and rear overall tire diameter cannot exceed a 1% difference.
