PM member Patrys. His store is www.bimmer-tech.net.
That's where I got mine from. He'll also do the coding for your car remotely all the way from Poland.
Here's my retrofit log:

And the main retrofit thread:

I don't know anything about coding so the support from Patryk was a bit help. Also, while the CIC kits come pre coded, my car was not and had to be coded to accept the CIC kit.

- CIC is 2nd generation iDrive, and is the latest iDrive which is available for E-series from factory.
- NBT is 3rd generation iDrive, and is the latest iDrive which is available for F-series from factory. We have developed an eNBT Retrofit Adapter, which allows installation of NBT into E-series.
NBT retrofit will you give you such things as:
- 200GB hard drive instead of 80GB drive (available in CIC)
- Combox built-in
- Sports Display (real-time power and torque meters)
- Faster processor (faster response speed)
- Ability to stream video from USB in the armrest (CIC does not allow this)
- BMW Apps
- 3D maps

And just to clarify, we definitely do coding remotely for our customers, in case if it is required after the CIC installation!

can the F30 CID be used in the E60? Does your retrofit stop BMW dealers from being able to update the car? I've heard of people having to undo retrofits for software updates from the dealer, else they refuse to touch it...

If a customer is considering CIC + Combox, it may be worth to consider NBT kit instead.

RTTI enabled?
ConnectedDrive / BMW Online?
Last but not least : the price for E60 LCI?

I did this upgrade myself, without a plug and play kit.
600$ - CIC unit
200$ - CIC screen
50$ - Cables,
50$ on the emulator.
And an afternoon plug play all working. There's no need to spend 3000$ on a unit if it's programmed correctly. There are other members on here that you can ask.

Don't suggest something that may cause people to end up spending more $$ in the long run. If this worked for you and a couple of other people, it does not mean it will work for every body.
