no bolts or screws to remove

remove the plastic cover....pull up on it from the edge it will come up fairly easily!

these are the tab locations

push down using a screw driver or even your keys ...push forward at the same time to push out the grill

pull out the top slowly and lift at the same time to release the bottom tabs if this is to difficult put your finger though to pull up on the lower tabs....move it around a bit it will come loose.......use 2 hands I only did this for the pic!

view from behind where its secured to

like the idea! do you think it would make a difference if you made a piece to cover up the whole right side of the grill to ram more air in instead of an open pipe? like a custom fit funnel around the back side of the grill connecting to the pipe? just an idea........

It would have to be a whole different design, and the way it would have to reduce into a pipe would be extreme for the amount of space behind the grill. In addition you are talking about alot of surface area that will catch even more rain and force it through the pipe and into the airbox at even lower speeds. im not sure I would go that route unless I had a definite way of stopping water from enetering the pipe!

You don't want to cover too much area or your radiator won't receive enough air and will likely over heat.

Definitely! I would think using similar used methods of ram air as a template can give decent results without effecting other systems performance such as cooling system.

Today I drove during a ridiculously heavy downpour in NY at about 50mph and had no water enter the filter box!
