I found one E60 that had the retrofit performed at the dealer. E60 SA-6FL retrofit Read the whole post, as it claims BMW's official position ( at that time ) is that it is not currently available as a retrofit on the E60.
The bit that confuses me about the retro fit for the E60 is the MULF high (hands free charging unit) as everyone ive seen on ebay has bluetooth yet the TCU thats fitted in my car does the bluetooth side of things so do i still need an MULF high.

Hey guys,
I had already installed the ccc lci with Fav. Buttons and the mulf2 svs with USB in my E61 2006.
A few days agou i was playing around with NCS and code the CAS with a empty .MAN File....
I tried to fix this Problem, but it still doesnt work.
Mulf2: bt-connection works fine but i dont have a BT-Menu, usb doesnt show in iDrive and the Fav. Buttons doesnt work.
I have coding the follow SA in CAS!
$609 for ccc
$644 for Mulf
$6FL for USB
What i have to do this parts working?
Sry about my language, i hope you guys understand what i write here

I am digging up this thread to ask if anyone has retrofited with success the SA6FL USB audio on a pre LCI E60 car and if its feasible? Apart from the MULF that needs to be replaced with MULF HIGH SVS do i have to replace the ccc with the newer ccc with the 8 buttons (03/2007) and the i-drive or can the old ccc be coded correctly?
Thanks in advance,
Dimitris

You dont need the LCI CCC.
But you need a Car after 09/2005 to code the MULF2 with OBD2 Interface.
But you can put the MULF2 in a other car and code it and put it back to yours.

Thanks Fanarik, for your reply. That's good news Although there must be some kind of "emulator software" with obd2 interface or something, i don't kmow the exact name of it because right now i'am having on my 2004 model retrofited the bluetooth with a MULF 2 from LCI with part no 84109178862 which was fitted on car from 03/2007 up to 03/2008(doesn't support the usb audio function though, it still needs to be replaced with MULF 2 svs HIGH). My car programer must have done something with autologic or some other software, because i don't remember programming it first on other E60. Either way, since we don't need a ccc replacement i will buy the retrofit and see what i will be dealing with...

I have been looking around if someone has succeeded to retrofit an SA6FL option (USB - AUDIO) interface to a pre lci E60 (2004 with CCC) with no luck. I don't know if it's even possible to code the MULF2 HIGH into a pre LCI car, so I was wondering if the below (picture attached) is possible. To retrofit the 6FL option and make it look as OEM as possible, using the oem usb switch, the oem usb cable, and aftermarket male usb cable and a dension 500 as a module. Let me know if someone has done it, if it's possible or your thoughts about it. I have already the ACM USB port but it's analogue and the sound quality is really poor.

My Ride: '06 E60 550i
I have it retrofitted on my '06 550i (prod date 12/05), so it's definitely possible. I have used this retrofit kit:
RealOEM.com Part Cross-reference
Generally it's for LCI cars, but works just as good on pre-LCI cars. I also have the pre-LCI CCC on mine.
Besides the retrofit kit, you will also need a Mulf2High module (I got one from ebay). Coding was done by Patryk (info@bimmer-tech.net) via OBD2.
