Has anyone seen this? Does this really work for our cars??

Damn, looks like someone might be buying this to try on their car...
If anyone has tried this, let us know if it'll work so we dont waste our time and money in purchasing it.
This definitely would be useful in winter months.

i dont know bout our car, but i had remote start in my expedition and by the time id get in the car it was nice and toasty

My Ride: 2008 550i M-sport, retrofitted heated M-sport steering wheel with paddles, Sport-auto transmission

Hmmm... sounds to me like you'd effectively be negating a pretty significant security feature - the one that requires you to have the key in the slot/vehicle to start. While I get the convenience/comfort aspect of a remote start in the winter (we can get to -40c here), it wouldn't be worth the risk of getting the car stolen... at least not to me.
In Europe they have OEM remote heaters for E60's, but presumably safety regs prevent them from being offered this side of the pond.

I saw that a while back and decided it wasn't worth it. My big concern is that the wireless range of our keys isn't really that great so what would be the point of a remote strat if I practically have to walk right up to the car to start it anyway.
