Noob 2004 E60 Mod Wish List
RE: "New to ME" 2004 530i Sport Gray/Silver, 107kmi - you can go check out my post on the E39 forum about how I bought another/returned it and bought this one lol smh!! https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=823383
Came over from E39 (2001 530i Sport, 167k mi); Been trolling about a month (27 Jan) since I upgraded. I'd like a clean and not overdressed look So here's the few mod's on my wish list after researching:
1. Angel Eyes: Exhausted from reading! ECS Tuning Ziza LEDS worked magic on my E39 so I'm going to give them another try! Bright white rings, plug/play, $100.
BMW E60 530i M54 3.0L - 003585ZIZ01A - LED Angel Eye Bulb Set - ES#2718025 . Option #2 to try would be the WeissLicht $165. I'm fully aware of Umnizta options but would consider the Orions as a last option....esp. when ECS's were perfect @right price point.
2. Bluetooth: Exhausted!! For now I'm just buying the $25 Aux cable and will install (ROSINC)??. I am Interested in Dynavin upgrade but I currently don't have Navi and confused whether I need to also include (buy) that hardware piece (CCC/MASK/TCU--idk!! lol) to go w/the Dynavin pkg or is the Dynavin an all inclusive upgrade. I like the upgraded navi where otherwise OEM Auto Navi's are dated and cell works much quicker.
2a. I already own a 10" sub box enclosure that was installed in my E39 when I bought it. I pulled the Alpine 5 channel Amp and the box when I sold. It also fits perfectly in the E60 trunk. I just need to do the Ski Pass Retrofit and hope it sounds as good as in my E39!!
3. Sprint Booster: A Lexus LSxxx spanked my #$% off the line one day. I know it's lighter, "faster" etc., but I'd enjoy spanking off the line and pull back w/a grin as they pass me w/a what was that look on their face lol. Just a lil fun every now and then, not all the time so this might work absent a v8!!
4. Miro 111's in "square" 18's PLEASE!! Not interested in staggered, spacers, etc. etc. That's what prevented me from buying wheels for my E39 - complicated bore size, spacers, staggering etc. Not "really" interested in 19's or 20's. I'd like to keep the quality ride - which is prolly true like I was told when I owned an Escalade...after a certain size you loose the ride quality. I am finding 19's more prevalent though so I continue to research options. M5 E60 would be #2 choice https://5series.net/forums/e60-parts...choose-140669/
5. Matte Kidneys...but idk NOW....seeing this: https://5series.net/forums/e60-parts...grills-104229/
6. Drop in Filter (AFE vs K&N): I don't mind a few hp gain here and there - leaning towards giving the AFE "drop in filter" a try.
7. M5 Front/Back Bumpers
I plan to do #1-6 right away but I might have to wait a little on #7. Thanks for any helpful input/thoughts/advice in advance. v/r -TSoup

First off welcome! I came in this forum about a year ago with very similar intentions ie bumper covers,AEs, wheels etc.
As for my 2 cents on the grills, I like matte on my car. I feel it gives the car a more "aggressive" look than gloss and more contrast IMO.
I owned a set of 18" Miro 111's and couldn't get the wobble out of them. The bore was 74.1mm (perfect for an E39) but a little big for our 72.56mm bores on the E60. I did have hub centric rings on, tried both aluminum and plastic and balancing done but no help with new tires. I looked that up and apparently it was somewhat of a common thing with the 18" 111's. I got rid of them and now have 19" 111's with no problems. I know you mentioned not wanting anything other than 18"s but just thought I'd share. No intention of discouraging you just thought you'd like to know. Of course there are people with 18"s that have no issues.
Good luck with your projects, I have yet to get my M-Tech kit as well. Hopefully by this summer.

I was going Matte before I saw a pic of a glossy on a pic of my same color car in here. My HS senior who think he knows better than I also prefers the Matte. I haven't 100% decided and searching for it (glossy)w/same price range and in US has been a challenge that cld dissuade me.
That's exactly what I need to hear!! I've been talking to Trinity about the 18's and all but need to pull the trigger w/all my ?? answered. Do you have any pics of your setup w/the 19's? Did they fit w/o spacers, fender roll, anything "extra" besides slapping the tires on them?? That wld def mean new tires since I have 245/40 18 on there now. My exp was diff for my E39...always found rims but was told "due to bore size" I'd require spacers etc., to make them fit. So I held off knowing I was upgrading to the E60 anyway and thought I was now in the land of pick any rim b/c E60 has correct (more common) bore size. I'm not sure I can get a $2k rim & tire pkg w/o raising the CEO's eyebrows!! :-0 Thanks for sharing this!!

I vote matte - glossy looks nice when the car is kept clean
matte will retain almost the same look if the car is dirty or clean. only when the car is extremely dirty with pollen or bugs on it, then you can tell.
I plasti-dip mine with the spray bottle from home depot - best 7 buck mod I've ever done
