I wish this was true. My gas mileage in my 08 535i keeps getting lower and lower. Thats with all proper preventive maintenance (spark plugs, oil changes, injector cleaning, new air filters etc)

The only tunes i have any knowledge about is the JB4 and the Cobb AP. Not sure about the jb4 but the cobb does not have any features that allow you to conserve fuel (at least not to my knowledge) My gas mileage has decreased after i installed the Cobb, as it should considering it drives like a beast now lol!

I would imagine the best bang for your buck MPG wise would be the 528i?

I want to get new spark plugs, K&N drop in air box filter, and magnaflow exhaust muffler to open it up so it can breathe and flow better in hopes of better MPG.
I get and average of 19 in the streets and about 23-25 in the highway, I don't have any mods and I haven't chaged the air filters yet, don't know if I have the carbon one.
I just got this car a month ago and I have been gentle with my foot.

My 2008 528i with 90k miles. Bone stock. Easily gets between 29-32 mpg with straight highway driving. Driving between 65-80 mph. Can't complain at all about the fuel economy. Just wish it had a bit more power.

There's also Vishnu Procede and ESS for N54 tunes.

2007 M5 500HP is rated at 17MPG highway
2007 530i 255HP is rated at 28MPG highway
2008 535i 304HP is rated at 26MPG highway
2008 528i 230HP is rated at 28MPG highway
2006 525i 215HP is rated at 28MPG highway

I still say the 2008 535i is still best bang for the MPG for a daily driver. Difinately beats the V10.

only thing you can do is be real easy on throttle. otherwise buy a different car if fuel economy is a concern.

you most likely have the charcoal filter still unless the previous owner took it off because it's standard on US models. I drive with a real light foot as well.

I wished I was getting this MPG because this sounds normal, I guess it must be the wheels.

don't get 20" wheels either if you want better MPG

i have 20 inch wheels on mine and its pretty amazing on the gas milage, i go to morango casino 100 miles each way w/ half a tank flooring it most of the way and traffic included at some parts, ofcourse if you get an exhaust or anything done like that youre going to like the sound and want to show it off here and there and shit in your gas milage, i did the same thing with my E46 lol but overall get a 530i its a great choice, you have enough power and its great on gas

Catch 22. Want the HIGH HP but not the LOW MPG.
