My Ride: 2005 E61 525d M-Sport, Titanium Silver, Black Dakota Leather, Media Pack, Sun Protection Glass, M6 Staggered Alloys, ACS Rear Diffuser, EBC Green Stuff Brake Pads, I-Pod Interface. Rear Aux Power DIY, LCI Rear Lights, Extended interior lights - doors and footwells, LED licence plate lights.
The new V6 versions of Bruce Miranda's LCI light cables have arrived. They look fantastic, and were fitted using the same bracket as the E60, albiet in a slightly different position.
To give sufficient clearance on the light; the bracket was slighty modified by elongating the holes to allow me to attach the bracket to the V6 in the corner position.
There are only three threaded location points on the E61 lights and I needed to use the upper / inner position nearest to the tailgate. The fixing location is shaped into a recess which mean't that the bracket would't sit flush, so I had to put some packing behind the bracket first. I used a plastic number plate nut which was just the right size and then secured the V6 in position, using the standard nut.
The installation was completed yesterday using ArneR's excellent DIY procedure - LCI rear lights on pre LCI E61, How to do it with Bruce Mirandas cables.
The outer lights are a doddle, and the tailgate lights are okay, you just need to take your time and be methodical.
Bruce was extremely helpful and assisted in allowing me to choose the position of the brake light bulb that would illuminate. I understand that the E60 lights use the inner bulb with the outer bulb used for BFD.
My personal preference due to width of the light was to use the outer position.
I bought the outer lights from EBay and Bruce was even able to supply a connector for the back of one of the lights which was broken when they arrived. BMW said I'd need a new light!! Thanks Bruce you certainly know your stuff.

Then just to finish off I then changed the number plate lights to LED, again using Bruce's magic cables.

Do you a pic of them installed? I mean the cables... I don't have the brackets yet, and I would like to see how you installed them!

Looks very nice, can you give me a quick hint to the number plate LED cables you mentioned?
Searched the forum but only found the DIY solution.
thx!

The licence plate LED's are as per this link http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=63536. I bought the cables from Bruce Miranda, and they are a direct plug and play item with the BMW LED number plate light part number 632 6719 3293.
I've had a couple of problems with the I-Drive errors on my E61, and Bruce is currently working on a solution for me. For some reason my car is super sensitive, but I'm confident Bruce will come up with a fix.

Hello. I have an E61 like you and I bought the Miranda Bruce adapter to change the rear lights to new LED. I changed the rear lights outside and look great, but I wonder how you've changed the drivers door, the interior? Has it helped Miranda Bruce adapter or you had to buy a new adapter? Please help me
