Default Comfort seats retrofit possible?

Folks, I'm trying to find the right car for me which would have the comfort seats. The majority of cars found so far don't have this option, so I have to ask - how difficult is it to do the comfort seat retrofit?

Plug and play by any chance?

Many thanks, your input is appreciated!

Should be plug-n-play as the seat control module is in the seat. The possible exception is seat heating. If you have heated seats now, you should be fine if new seat also has heat

I'm going to be doing this swap as well but the seats are heated comfort active. My car is LCI and the comfort active seats are from an LCI car. My car has the regular heated electric seats. Do I need to code my car so the active button makes that option work? Or plug n play with the oem button and wiring? I understand the seats and heat should work plug n play...Correct? Just wondering about the active portion of the seats.
My car 2009 528xi...seats from 2010 550i

Your seats are plug and play if there both heated. The active seating would have to be wired to the dash cause active seats is inter grated with the sport control trans. It's the other yellow plug that with the drivers seat. It's wired to the dash, as the sport trans is active, the seats are active as well. Other that that, it's a plug and play retro.

Active Backrest monitors the DSC information and automatically adjusts the backrest on the outside of the turn to tighten up and support the driver/passenger during cornering.

You will need to add in a connection to the can bus network and code the car for Active Backrest.

Yes,you would have to do a whole wire harness for the active to work in sport. This swap was the best swap I've done compared to the basic seats, I also did the larger 550 calipers and rotor upgrade!

That's reassuring to hear. I just got a great deal on a practically new set of comfort seats in auburn. I have the full electric, heated basic seats and was concerned if the connectors are the same and if the whole thing would be plug and play.
