I'm been thinking of wrapping my car in satin/matte black, or maybe a different color. What do you guys think of the durability of them? How much does a car wrap usually cost, like $2k?

IMHO - I think Matte/Satin finishes look best on exotics and race cars. I saw a late model Nissan Maxima with a satin finish, and it looked like primer.. I'm afraid that's what an e60 would look like in a Matte finish....

It might help if you have a really nice/expensive set of wheels(360 forged, DPE, HRE, etc) to finish off the look. Just my 2 cents.
But then again, what do I know! I'm still rollin on Asanti's! (getto fabulous! )

I would spend the money elsewhere and yea it would probably run you around that ballpark. Those satin looks are a PITA to keep like that. It's like suede except you can't just rub it and make it look fine when something scuffs it.

I saw a matte black vette (not sure if it was painted or vinyl wrapped) but it looked horrid. It looked like it was just sanded and primered and waiting for a paintjob. Vinyled roof on the other hand =

you need to have a fairly heavily modded car for it to look right and most of the time the mods need to reflect a mean theme the car is going for

Petrol wheels and no drop doesnt really carry that I think

what he said.

Id get the wheels and drop it before you do that. Get the black 166's in the classifieds, drop it, then go matte black. it would look just like that m5.

If you can find a matte wrap for your 5 series for $2K, jump on it. Just hope they use quality materials!

We can do it... but matte wraps are typically quite a bit more work then a regular printed/designed wrap. I have turned away quite a few.
