Do you have pre lci halogens? I have pre lci halogens and have been looking for an alternative to get some nice AE. I've read on other posts that you should stay away from headlights such as those and stick to OEM. Anyone with experience using these headlights?

Default pre lci to lci head/tail lights

I have been looking also. I have a 2007 550i and rockauto.com and carparts.com have them. I heard the best car to get the lci headlight and syder tail lights are from the 2008 528i e60's I heard they are a perfect fit but we just need to get these bruce cables for the tails. Not sure about the headlights. But I'm going to get the tails for sure from carparts.com. However if you want the orion v2? Angel eye headlights they have them at www.umnitza.com I talked to Tim a few days ago. The lights are bad azz... If anyone has a better suggestion pls chime in.

Do you have working NCSExpert?

The best place to get lci anything would be on a post march 2007 production date car, does't have to be 2008. What your pre lci car will have is the facelift light module (LM2), so with a little coding the spider tails will work, only thing you'll need to do is run a cable for the 4 red side marker leds in the tails to the gas pedal area. You can get adapter cables to go from 6 pin to 8 pin for the lci tails (8 pin, but only has 7 connections, the extra one is for the 4 leds) but I suspect you can take the wires out and just buy a connector for the lci headlights and put the wires directly into that - need to look into this properly at some point.

You probably have adaptive xenons headlights currently, brightest option for the AE would be MTEC v3's. If you are changing headlights you'd want lci adaptive bi-xenons as you won't lose the adaptive headlight feature, and it has the "spider fins" in the headlight too. The lci xenon headlights AEs aren't that bad, they are visible in the daytime, most people either put in a blue H8 bulb in it, or a replacement H8 LED bulb, or you can slip in a HID kit that John from Motorcepts sells on here.

Word of warning, check out the Orions in person before you buy it, it looks good in pictures (as do the numerous LED angel eye pictures on eBay!) - every time I've seen them in person I do notice them from a distance, but as it gets closer something just seems "off" about them, like they don't look OEM - then when it gets even closer you realise why, you can see ring isn't lit up continuously, it looks a bit like the Audi R8's Christmas lights (as Jeremy Clarkson described them lol). Luckily I've spotted this on the motorway in my rearview mirror, as well as on the sidewalk as a pedestrian, and also in different lighting conditions, so my observation hasn't come from a "one off" sighting.

Ok cool I just said the 2008 528i because I read several post on bimmer fest saying they got their spider tails from that particular car and yr. Because they were at a good price and low install issues. But like I said I'm open for any help because I want to do it the right way once. Oh and several people said those orion angel eye headlights are chessy looking and you can tell they are aftermarket. But thanks and I'll keep looking and reading
