Valve stem seals not needed - Carbon buildup on piston photos (taken thru spark plug hole - projected to tv screen then copied to my cell phone - sorry for the poor quality)

After 2 applications of Sea Foam (sprayed thru plug holes & let soak for an hour or so), ran thru PCV hose/intake & added CRC engine clean to fuel tank

I found an interesting notation while reading the BMW N63 Engine - Technical Training Workbook (Page 20)
Note: If the exhaust system produces blue smoke, it is necessary to check whether the engine is also drawing oil into the combustion chamber through the crankcase breather, which suggest that there is a fault in the area of the crankcase breather. A clear sign of a problem is an oiled up clean-air pipe.

Hey guys I was gonna update you with how much oil I've collected over the past 1500 miles but I dropped the bottle and the oil went all over the engine bay but heres a pic of what was left. This is about a third of what I actually collected from both sides.

So the catch cans are still working wonders haha every 1000 miles I empty them out and there's a good amount of oil in them. Ill post pics of the setup tomorrow when it is light out

Makeshift catch can idea:
Parts needed;
4 - Brass Fuel Filters (Carquest #86050 $3 each)
10 - (1 inch) hose clamps
2 - Brass T Fittings - Home Depot (SharkBite 3/4x3/4x3/4) plumbing dept. $4 each
1 roll - Home Depot (Watts 42143912 7/8x5/8x10 ft.) plumbing dept. $10
Approximate Total $40
Note: Clear hose will be easier to form when heated with a hair dryer.
The clear hose appears to hold up well, but I do not live in a freezing climate. The clear hose allows you to see what's going on and the non-corrugated hose allows for better oil drainage back to valve covers. The brass filters are a first and secondary line of defense against oil and they breath well. The U-shaped trap from right to left T-fittings (ran under fresh air intake) act as a catch can. It also appears to have equalized the vacuum between both CCVs because I get almost no oil caught. (Maybe 1 tablespoon & oil level on dipstick is not moving) Allows for engine covers to be installed.
