I have seen so many e90s smoothly fit with 20" wheels that I cant help but feel that the e60 merits a 21" wheel... What are your thoughts? I borrowed a couple pics to use as samples.
Anyone who has 21s, would love to hear from you as well... Any issues with rubbing? How is the performance?
Thanks to all in advance for your input.

The bigger you want to go the smoother I hope the roads are where you drive...
I wouldn't go more than "plus 1" over the factory's biggest wheel which would mean going with 19's but I'm in the minority when it comes to wheel sizes. How much sidewall would you have with a 21" wheel? Less than an inch? Looks cool but not for me...
I am putting 18" BBS LM's on my 545i next week. The wheels are left over from my M3 but I also prefer a decent amount of sidewall. The roads where I live can have nasty potholes and are generaly only in fair condition.

Thanks mhs,
I believe the 550 w/sports package comes with 19" factory wheels... In that case "Plus 1" would take one to 20" wheels.

Regardless I believe the overall wheel/tire combo diameter has not changed so every increase in rim width is coming out of your tire sidewall height to maintain constant overall diameter.

My 545i also came with 18's.
I followed the recomendations of a few shops I talked to as well as some of the memebers here and went with 19's.
I noticed just a bit of a ride difference for the better, tire composition is obviouslly different between the Goodyears all season that came with the car and the NITO's that I have on there now
But I would advise that if you are on roads that arn't the best, go +1.
If the streets you are going to be driving on are smooth then go with the biggest you can put on, if that's the style you're looking for.
Welcome
