How do you guys cope with the snow on an M5? I had to be pushed to my driveway today, just couldn't get the power down. I'm definitely missing my X5!!

At a minimum all season tires at every corner. If you are in snow country it's snows all around OR a beater to drive when weather conditions require it!

Had the same problem in a carpark, with plenty of people watching! Lots of usefull comments like, "second gear mate" then blank looks when explaining yes I hadn't thought of that, now how do I get my SMG into 2nd?!

She hasn't been out in the snow .. I learned my lesson from my previous E60 (545i) in the snow. Very embarrassing. Snow tyres for sure, but this country (down south at least) doesn't really require the necessity to own such things.. we may get 1 day a year (though 2009 shpaing up to be considerably more).
I have a new Mini Cooper that I use for the station runs .. Behaves like a 4x4 I tell you. Nothing seems to stop it

Mate, i've been having some serious issues in the snow!! It NEVER snows in Bournemouth, but the last few days, we've had the most dumped on us in over 20 years. The M5 just isn't the car to have in these conditions. Thing is, i can't justify going out and buying 4 new winter tires, when i can guarantee i'll only use them for a week, maybe! I'm just grin and bearing it, and having a bit of fun at the same time.

What you need brother is a good old fashioned Escort Van, my M5 stays indoors until the snow goes.

Front wheel drive...0-60 in a couple of days...1,000,000 miles to a tank......what more could you ask for..............but there again I am getting withdrawel symtoms........roll on bloody Spring!!

ah, the old trusty Escort Van. Lowered with Cossie wheels on. 5x12" subs in the back (which will also help with bedding the rear into the snow )

When it snows I just leave mine parked on the drive and take the wife's CRV... Even when it's dry and I do a 3-point to reverse out the inside rear spins no matter how slowly you go. My old 525i was the same in the snow, i.e. very scary!
