BMW seem to follow "guaranteed" power policy.

One is not enough. It should be at least three owners confirm this to make "530hp" number valid.

A chassis dyno can only accurately give you rwhp. Crank HP is just a guess. What rwhp was the car running?

If it's 420 rwhp then 500 hp is right on target. A good manual transmission will lose 15% through the drivetrain. 500 - (.15)(500) = 500 - 75 = 425 rwhp is what the M5 should be running with 500 crank hp. No way the car is running 530 crank hp with 420 rwhp. That's a drivetrain loss of over 20% - poor even for a slushbox.
