I had the same thing happen to me. I had a black box a black card looking thing plugged in and the Lil white box which is the RDC module that monitors the tire preasure. My dash started flashing on and off also. I cleaned out all the water and dried the boxes The rdc module was the only thing that had water inside of the box. The dealer told me to open it and drain the water and fill it with rice to absorb the moisture. I tried it but It didn't work. I waited about a month and tried to reset the tires and it still said malfunction so I finally today went to the dealer and bought a new one plugged it up myself and a mile later bam!!! It reset... I paid $257 tax incl. I see them on the Web used but I went with a new one. It's plug and play no programing needed

Oh you have to pull the spare out and get all the water out the spare area and unplug and dry all the electrics in there. Its crazy where BMW puts delicate items

Did you source the water? Sun roof drains I assume. Sorry to here of the mess. Good luck.

For me I sat on the key and popped the trunk open during a rainstorm while out eating. The guy at the door saw my trunk open but didn't day anything until I was at my table for 15 mins. Hey was too busy staring at my girls azz. But he knew it was my car bc he watched us get out of the car. But it's all good.. car fixed

Same thing happened to me before. Went out to the car and it was raining and my trunk was open. I had been over to a friends working on something and I'm sure I hit the button. Didn't get water damage thankfully. I gotta figure out how to disable the trunk remote. It isn't that useful anyhow and once in awhile I set off the alarm anyway

Most likely the trunk gasket. This happens to me, I cover my electronics with plastic and drilled two small holes in the battery compartment and under the spare tire. No more water problem.

Although the correct fix is most likely changing to the trunk gasket.
