Default Transmission Solenoid

Hi there, I'm having a similar problem like most E60 owners when it comes down to the transmission. I've done everything to solve the problem and after doing some research I figured out that I need new solenoids to fix the jerking. 95% of the time the transmission works and shifts perfect but randomly jerks and sometimes get the malfunction. I'm looking for someone who has replaced the solenoids inside the transmission. I own a 2007 525i with 115k miles. I replaced the oil, pan, filter, sleeves, software etc... If anyone knows of someone or experienced shop, please feel free to send me an email. I would greatly appreciate it.

I called ZF transmissions and gave them my vin and they sold me a solenoid set for around $500.00. The set came with detailed instruction as to which screws to remove inside trans. I now realize that I should have rebuilt the valve body. After replacing the car drove like new. My car is a 2005 545.

Did you just replace the solenoids? did you do it your self? was it easy/hard? Also did you need to reset any adaptions? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Kyle, once I reinstall the VB, pan and oil, i have to reset the transmission adaptations right? Is that the process were you hold the accelerator for about 25-30 seconds? or do I have to connect it to a machine and reset it?

Yes, although I've never done it that way. I've always used INPA, but supposedly the accelerator trick does the same thing.

Hi Kyle, hope all is well. So I'm getting ready to send out my valve body and wanted to ask a few questions. Once i get it replace and add the oil and filter, can i drive the car without resting the adaptations? reason i ask is that my mechanics shop few miles from my home and i would need to drive the car there so he can hook it up to the machine to reset everything. would this affect the car in any way? Thanks
