I had the transmission adaptations reset by another BMW indy who was referred to me as having more transmission experience last Tuesday. I have driven the car about 250 miles since. The shifting is much smoother now and I am not having any problem getting into higher gears on the freeway. However, the car is accelerating and shifting pretty quickly now. For the lack of a better word, it feels very light on its feet and does not seem to be getting much traction. It does not seem to be as stable as before. Not sure if this relates to the original issue or not. In any case, I am not sure what more I can do at this point. I am not 100% happy with the entire outcome of the transmission repair and the indy who performed the work claims everything is fine.
