Testing a Electric water pump?

2006 525i E60
Overheating and i would like to know how to test the electric water pump. When i run the automatic bleeding procedure it pumps intermittently and was wondering if it should run continuously during this procedure?

the pump should have a relay that triggers it on/off. you could try jumpering it.

not sure where itd be exactly....in a fuse panel box??
