Hi everyone,
I have an odd problem with my transmission. When unlocking/starting the car and when the engine is stopped, I get the following error on the dash and iDrive:
I've used INPA to read the fault codes on the gearbox module and on the CAS, here's the gearbox firstly (1 fault):
And the CAS (4 faults - not sure if all are relevant?):
Everything works as it should, gears can be selected etc - once the car is started there is no error in the Check Control screen. It's literally just when opening the car and stopping.
Thanks!

They seem relevant. Check your wiring around your shift boot. Says right there, shift lock. Can you move your gear lever without pressing the brake? Is the shift lock engaging?

Fixed it
There is a microswitch that engages when the lever is in park - the little blade part had fallen off! Put back together now and it's all working ok, no errors.

Hi, I only have a couple of pics I'm afraid but hopefully you can get a rough idea:
Get the centre console stripped to this kind of state. Remove gear lever, leather gaitor and the plastic surround with the gear indicator. Remove iDrive controller. 2 x T20 screws in the gear lever area will loosen the centre console trim. Remove the ash tray, put the lever into D, and the trim will lift out - you have to wiggle it out as there are some quite tight pins that hold it down as well as the screws (You can see the white square things that the pins plug into):
Then there are 3 x T30 screws which you will be able to see holding the lever assembly down (1 at the back of the lever in the middle, 2 at the front). Remove these. Next, you will be able to "lean" the whole lever assembly to the left, and you should see a little panel on the side with 3 x T10 screws. Remove these screws, move the cover out of the way, and towards the front of the lever assembly is where the microswitch sits:
Hope that helps...
