Hi everyone, I have a 545i with the dreaded 6 speed smg transmission. The issue I'm having is once the car gets to temperature it will "skip" certain gears. For example if I am in 1st gear and try to upshift it will act like its trying to shift into 2nd and then end up in 3rd. Last night i tried to downshift and the rpms looked like it was trying to go into second but failed and then went back into 3rd. It's not consistent with just 2nd gear, sometimes its 3rd or even going into 6th. It changes every time I drive it. No warning lights have popped up.
I know I should take it to a shop but there are no dealer or indy shops near me that will touch it.
So far Parts I have replaced are:
SMG Pump
Clutch and Flywheel
Crankshaft Position sensor.

These were all replaced in the last 20k miles and i had no issues untill a few days go.
If anyone has any ideas your input will be greatly appreciated.

So even though no one gave me any ideas I figured I'd post an answer since I got it all figured out. I ended up changing the diff fluid and trans fluid. The transmission just took mtf-lt2. 2 liters if it, about $55 shipped from ecs tuning. The diff used redline 75W-110 GL-5. After I got it changed I hit some back roads and that not only fixed my issue but it shifts smoother than ever now!
