Hi Everyone,

I just joined after I purchased my first BMW.... A 2009 E60 520D M Sport.
Always loved how these cars looked and NOW I OWN ONE...

Ok So there is no navigation in mine but my i drive nob has a nav button and a phone button and about 5 in total, I'm guessing that I have the CCC model??

I have rang some rural scrap yards and they seem to have some newer crashed cars that I might be able to get parts cheap from..

If I wanted to update my i drive (1) Is it possible?? (2) What exactly will I need??

Sorry if this has already been asked but Im a BMW newbie and im still excited lol.


PS: Can these parts be taken from any BMW?

If someone wouldn't mind showing me exactly what parts are needed that would be great..

Ok so it looks like no one wants to chat to me about this :-(

If someone wants to read and reply maybe you can answer some questions before I buy hardware..

(1) If my car does not have satnav and I purchase the HD screen The Radio and the new nob control is that all I need??

If I purchase the radio from a crashed car that has got sat nav is the sat nav built into the radio unit?

(2) The shark Ariel on the roof, is that the gps unit? If so will that be automatically wired back to the head unit?

(3) The CIC units seem to have google integrated (Obviously with some kind of sim card installed) Does the sim card go into the unit??
