New member from Ireland
Hi new member from Ireland. Don't have a car bought yet but on the look out for 530d. Don't know if it's worth going up to 2008 for cheaper tax. Basically I'm looking for advice on what to look out for. Also head that there is two variations depending on the engine code. All help welcome!

My Ride: 2007 E60 530d
Model Year: 2007
Engine: M57
For a 530D if possible get the codes read and make sure the thermostats are OK and the glow plugs are good and the DPF is operating normally - BMW specialist can check all this - or you can with the right tools.
I had issues with mine initially due to these items.

My Ride: E60 530d
best to steer clear of the 520d N47 engine, the timing chain snaps (though BMW are carrying out a free upgrade / "quality enhancement" on the timing chain).
