New IBS and still draining battery!?
Hi,
If someone had similar experience or know know some answers or advice please help..
I had high battery drain few months ago, so I had to replace battery. I bought a new 110A bosch s5, register it as new one. Again battery drain after few days. I was advised by bmw that my ibs was faulty, bought new IBS cable, coded and after 20 days, airbag fault and again battery drain. Went to check new battery and test showed it's 70 % healthy... btw everything is dry in the trunk. Checked all error codes - have none!
Today my wife stayed in the car with the key out and she said that dvd nav was reading the nav dvd all this time ( 2 hrs) and that cluster lights came on shortly with the key out??
My bluetooth unit is frozen for over 2 years after software update attempt but if I understand when bluetooth is draining battery then parking light won't go off. Mine goes out normally after 10-20min.
Any ideas what can be causing all this?

I don't think your IBS was faulty. It was a case of shooting the messenger. The IBS was detecting a current drain and reporting it.
All sorts of things will keep the car awake, on the E61 the switch for the rear window hatch is a common issue. Any door or bonnet switch will wake the car.
Hopefully a full diagnostic read may help. I'd also unplug the bluetooth module for now but it may well stop the radio and CD changer working because the optical MOST bus is looped through the bluetooth module.
