Other threads seem to indicate that in the US it's not even an option, as apparently you cannot get the electrical folding mirrors... At any rate, it's not "standard", but it's a dealer-settable preference (for low or zero cost)
Oh .. so the dealer can actually program it/install the wiring for it u mean? I am due for CIP Upgrade this friday. I dont see "Folding-mirrors" option in the list of Dealer-Configured settings (There is bulletin pdf posted in one of the posts which list Dealer-only-settings like DRL and others)

There is no wiring involved. It's just a software setting (please look at the thread I referenced in post #28).

However, given that electrically folding mirrors do not seem to be available in the US (checking the brochure, the options sheet and the price list, they do not appear anywhere), clearly it's not a dealer-configured setting in the US.

I've been trying to figure out how to program the car to unlock all the doors when i put the car in Park, or turn off the motor. I can't find it in the menu's.

Has anyone done that/

Mine does that automatically - it's set up to lock them when moving off, and when the engine is switched off they all open. There is no separate setting in iDrive for the opening, only for the closing. However, this may be another one of those regional differences.

I never warmed to the "normal" US central locking system of having to open the driver's door and then opening all the other doors from within the car; however, I understand the security concerns. Perhaps the same line of thinking applies here - there needs to be an explicit action by the driver to unlock the car or someone will sue BMWNA's arse off for failing to protect against being carjacked.

Hmmm... I thought I somehow had set mine to be unlocked only by a double pull of the door lever. Perhaps I'm imagining the setting...

(Sorry to continue the hijacking of the thread.,.. so I'll repeat my relevant link: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=253420

Which contains an interesting document http://forums.e60.net/index.php?act=attach...st&id=20747
