Got the car back -- my indy didn't have INPA so I brought my laptop and reset the adaptations before I took off. Drivability is much better. No harsh/jerky shifts at all in any gears. I'm still experiencing low torque and bad RPM -- could be because of DISA and/or because of the B25 motor... it's so slow!

Apparently his spare DISA was from an M56 and not the M54... It wouldn't fit -- so unfortunately I need to source another one.

I'm not trying to spend a large amount of money on this car -- and I originally intended on selling it... I wanted to enjoy it for a few months, but I'm already in around ~$4,400 altogether.

People swear against aftermarket parts for DISA -- with brands like VAICO or Dorman. Anyone have any experience here? They're much cheaper than OE BMW. Others also say to stay away from G.A.S. kit.... Would like to hear thoughts/experiences here.

How about a DISA rebuild kit? German Auto Solutions has a rebuild kit, better than OEM after rebuild. Put one in my M54 in 2014 and smooth sailing sense. Well worth the $75.

Haha, you responded to my post on the other forum.

Will try the GAS kit -- gotta pull the DISA to confirm it is a good candidate for being rebuilt.

Yep, That's why you got the condensed response over there... Much better quality than OEM.

Here is a video of my DISA valve uninstalled from the car. Notice the play in the flap (this takes little effort). I hear rattling while installed on the car, but other than that, the vacuum pot works flawlessly. Please ignore my doggy in the back, as well as the blow dryer going off in the background.

Does this DISA need to be rebuilt? Is it hampering performance in its current condition?

Also, I replaced my front/rear brake pad sensors... The fronts were able to reset using the service reset on the instrument panel... The rears won't reset. The gong will chime immediately after I reset it -- what could be the problem?

Ordered the G.A.S. kit -- hopefully it fixes the rattling, but more importantly the drivability and fuel economy.

I also ordered a used steering wheel (current one has a tear) -- and other miscellaneous interior/exterior trim pieces that are missing.
