Interior Temp. Sensor Fan Issue
When I got the car 1.5 years ago it wasent 100% perfect. Steering adjustment didnt work, it had the passanger restraint maulfunction error. About a few months after owning the car i felt somethiing was up with the air con/heat. When I ended up scanning the car I got this.
9C7B - IHKA: Interior Temperature Sensor Fan
So when summer hit last year I decided to go and get this part. I went to the BMW dealer and they had to order it from a dealer that had that in stock. Part ran me around $75.00.
I got the part, swapped it out, cleared the codes and monitored for a day or two. Everything was fine.
This year it got cold again and well, my dad noticed why is the air blowing hot air on the window (we even tested it with the ac on) and why is the air blowing so hot for the feet. We played around with the idrive settings and everything seemed to be a better. But i decided to scan my car anyway again....so I get more codes (about 15-18), So some of them i was aware of (not sure about the Transmission Wear Gear Oil... I did a filter and transmission fluid change when I got the car and before I hit 100k).
One of the codes was the 9C7B - IHKA: Interior Temperature Sensor Fan AGAIN! What is going on? Do these sensors suck that much? When I have time Ill probably try disconnecting it and reconnecting it again. Its annoying, because the part is tiny, about half the size or so of the bmw key and its 75.00 bucks.

In the IHKA dash panel the is a small grill to the left of the blower knob in front of your temperature sensor fan. Vacuum that grill out and ensure it is clean and not restricting airflow to the sensor and fan.

Once I get time im going to pull that apart and see. Probably clean it out well too. Thanks for the advice, I honestly didnt think that could be part of the problem.

Well I cleaned and still got the code. I have no idea whats going on. I also noticed its blowing colder air out of the passanger center vent, and the driver side center vent blows warmer air while both sides are set to 62 F.
I took a 4 hour trip this past weekend (2 hours each way) and on the way back it was like 85 outside so i wanted to run the AC on the highway... it sucked. It was on max ac, set to the coldest possible temp and it was way too warm in the car.
I also found out what the "wear gear oil" thing meant. I looked up the error code and looks like its time to replace the transfer case fluid.
