How to replace your BMW battery!

Your previous battery was a traditional flooded lead acid battery, with plates hanging suspended in an acid solution.
Your new battery is an absorbed glass mat battery, where the plates are wrapped in an acid impregnated fine-mesh fiberglass mat. It has a spill-proof design, tends to charge faster and is more resistant to freezing than FLA batteries.
Normally (contrary to what BMW tells everyone) battery registration is not a critical item when staying with the same type battery and same specifications, but since you changed from an FLA to AGM type battery it is important that the car's charging system be informed so it can charge the new battery slightly differently than the old one. One of the characteristics of the AGM battery is that it must be charged at 14.7V or less. Because you purchased the battery at BMW and they registered the battery in the car's computer you can be confident that the battery will operate properly.
You could have purchased this type of battery at an auto parts store for about $170, and have an independent BMW repair shop register it for around $50, but what's done is done.
