Default Help!

my tech guy was test driving the car, after solving the car not charging the car battery problem on my 545i 05 with 90,000 mile, when he pulled over and pulled the codes and locked the car from within the car via button and the car proceed to going into "Service" mode and wont turn over or start the car. Tried hard reset after pushing home from down the street of my house. Waiting to put back the battery terminals and then going to test it. But you have any clue what it could be? "service" mode ive never seen. And also the car shows on the iDrive that theres a "transmission fault" present if thats and aid into solving this problems?

My guess is your tech guy didn't actually fix the problem, you're still having battery / charging issues, and the "transmission fault" is a false positive. A low battery can cause all kinds of weird error codes and strange symptoms and if the battery wasn't charging properly, the test drive may have drained it.

I agree with DanL, if you have an external charger give the battery a complete charge then re-install, that should fix the immediate problem but you will need to figure why the battery is not charging. If your alternator is good then consider changing the battery, could be dead cells.

I had just replaced the battery last month. Have you seen the car go into service mode and refuse to start?

I couldn't find 2F55. Does the doors open with the key? If the doors do open what happens when you press the button or turn key? It could be you need to synchronize CAS with DME, if the DME and CAS are not aligned the car will not start. I would definitely try this first. You also need to read the key. If you have DIS you could do all this yourself. What tool do you have? I think you could sync DME and CAS with INPA but I don't know how to do it with that tool.

Currently waiting on the scanner being used to be updated software wise and then we were going to give that a theory a shot. Cause my tech has just about ran every avenue and this is the last effort before I have it taken to the stealership to put it on them to figure it out.

Also they key fob will randomly unlock the doors via remote but not every time I go to get in the car. Never thought to much into it besides the key battery being dead and in need of a new one.
