Default Glow plug/controller error

Hi

I hade an error message in dis and Inpa showing glow plug no 2 fault 4222. I have replaced all 6 plugs and when tested glow plug with multi meter it was sowing as faulty the oham reading was all over the place.
I have scanned it again and still showing glow plug no 2 same fault, could this be the glow plug controller or would it show all glow plugs down if that was at fault. any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
John

I have the same issue - replaced all six plugs and almost right away one was reported as bad.

The controllers are known for being a source of issues so I have another one ready to install when I get a few hours - its tight down there. I didn't have it when I changed the plugs.

Not really a running issue yet since it will regen fine with 5/6 working.

Thought it would not regen with a glow plug down as my dpf light keeps coming on so need to get controller ASAP. Just wasn't sure if a failed controller would only show one plug down, I really should have scanned it when manifold was off when I replaced plugs

I don't think a single bad glow plug is enough to stop regeneration.

A single glow plug failure will not stop regeneration. My car is one glow plug down and it's definitely regenerating.

Thanks for the comments guys.
Just replaced the controller today and all faults cleared, so just need it to regen, or force one manually.

Dear John, could you please explain a little more at what point did you checked with the Multi-meter? What are the expected values for the working glows?

I have a similar problem (error code is: 4203), so I want to understand how to check the glows before buying anything...

Thanks:
Tigran
