2005 545i Update to fuel streaming out of my fuel line and hope that it lends knowledge to your problem to the Original poster.... I had fuel streaming out a pin hole on the bend of my black plastic coloured fuel line before it connects to the braided fuel line. Turns out my coupling/connector had all kind of dirt and crud in there making the contact not so secure. I cleaned the connector/Coupling with WD40, reattached the two lines together and no more fuel was streaming out the pin hole on the bend. Apparently its a black plastic film over the aluminum fuel line and pressurized gas gets in between the black plastic film and the aluminum fuel line and has to find a way out. An inch down the pipe, the pipe bends and there it would stream pressurized fuel....Thanks to H F who guided me on this simple operation. Turns out the coupling/connector was dirty......

I have the same problem I was going to do the cut repair. This time around I saw the pressurized fuel misting out. Thank you for saying that about the plastic coating over the tube. I will try this today . How did you despressuresize the fuel line?

Let the car sit for a while, disconnect the battery (to reduce the chance of spark), open the gas cap (to relieve pressure), then place a rag or bag around the connection when you go to open it. I would also wear gloves and eye protection.

Much appreciated.

alpha_romeo55 did you ever get the name of the black plastic tubing?
