E60 535i Angel Eye Problem
Hello fellow E60 owners,
I have a 2008 535i and I am having a problem with my passenger side angel eye. When I bought the car it came with the WeissLicht LED angel eye lights installed already but one day the passenger side halo threw a code and just turned off, and that was about 6 months ago. Ever since then the halo will not turn back on. I have tried everything, including buying the stock bulbs, unplugging battery, etc. I read that this could be a problem with the Light Control Module. Any suggestions on what I can do?
P.S. I would prefer to do it myself than spend a fortune getting it fixed at the stealership.

Have you looked at the wires to make sure the protection sheath is not cracked. I do not know about the 08 but I know on my lights I had to take it out and tape wires up that were exposed and shorting out due to wires touching other wires. It takes about 20 mins for a good job

Aside from that, it would be good to read the error codes - could be the light module has seen too many short circuits and disabled power to that bulb.

My Ride: '06 530i
Hi Derooster,
When I had a problem with my drivers side headlight on my '06 530i, it was because the wiring insulation had flaked off of the internal wiring.
I had to remove the front lens and completely rewire the internal wire harness.
Remove the 2 rear covers of your headlight and take a really good look inside and confirm that you have no bare wires.
You may need to remove the headlight and look in with a flashlight, though mine was clearly visible while in the car.
If you have any bare wires then that IS your problem.
In the very first post you will see the headlight wiring harness outside of the headlight and my nightmare!
I hope this is not the case for your headlight, however your car is on my list of effected cars below....

I have put together a list of cars that I have seen in various forums with bare headlight wiring......
Your '08 535i is number 10 on my list which means that posters with your car model have experienced flaking insulation and bare wires inside their headlights.
Starting with my car first and going back through this thread...
1) 2006 530i (with Adaptive Headlights. Part # 63-12-7-160-157)
2) 2004 525i
3) 2004 530i
4) 2004 545i
5) 2004 330Ci
6) 2006 325i
7) 2007 530i
8) 2007 335i
9) 2008 528i
10) 2008 535i
11) 2008 550i
Good luck,
Bud B
