I have a guy who is willing to help me code my car. Am I asking him to enable to CD changer function to let the Dynavin unit work or is something else considered auxilary? I have a 2005 non nav with idrive.
The GPS unit can be mounted anywhere, I simply mounted near the rear speakers not inside the shark fin, since I dont want to mess with it. The GPS mount is magentic it simply hangs on to the speakers.. You need the aux in order to stream music using the dynavins unit and also used for GPS.

My car is 2005, my buddys car is 2010, this worked for both the cars, this pretty much covers the gap.

And does it matter if u have iPhone vs android ? Or u need to pair it correctly. Android with android? Also were do u mount navi antenna? Thanks I'll b posting info on my experience later in the week when i attempt my install. Oh one last one. Do u have logic7? I read thst there was some issues with the navi sound not working with the logic 7 radios. But this was the earlier 2012 release I believe thanks again
I followed the instructions and got AUX coded up since it was cheap at least where I live. Doesn't matter android v/s apple, they all conform to industry standard.

LOL, At least it did mine, my car upgraded and I love to drive it all the time, but alas I WFH. The usb input is cool, you can stick in a USB with all the media/songs/vid or a micro SD loaded with media and you can use the i-drive button to browse your media. Rotate to browse, press to play.

good luck to y'all

Default Awesome

I've been searching for actual reviews of this product. I've heard that it's got occasional problems and not quite as fast as oem upgrades but it seems like a great deal. Lots of bang for your buck. I think I'm going to go ahead and get the unit. I did see somewhere that you can hook up an airplay device to copy whatever is on your phone screen onto the idrive display. I'm unable to find out where to purchase it or what site. That if anyone knows what I'm talking about that would be a awesome feature to have.

Okay explain the AUX part to me. Do you simply code for it or do you need a physical aux input created and coded?

Just coding, ensure your AUX appears as one of the options, don't need the hardware change.

Can't wait to get mine installed. But the coding part of the install doesn't make this plug and play For some reason it's difficult to find anyone in the Philly area thst knows that the hell I'm talking about when I call them and ask then if they do coding

Ok. I'm trying to prep so when I finnally get my dynavin in, I can install. It was sent thru fed ex smartpost and it's taking about a week So i decided to get car coded but the indie shop who speciallities are working with BMWs weren't to familiar with coding. They basically went in and just enable the aux. so my concerns are, is it actually really enabled? It took like 5 mins Name: 7A0E81CC-8D5D-49C4-B1BF-599C79CECB28.jpg

As u can see the aux does pop up. But just not sure if it was a complete job they did. Because all he said they did was enable it. No putting in codes or anything else in the system Name: 6A9D57E4-EE39-4E72-9E0A-9E8DE852E42E.jpg

can someone make a video that showcases the user interface? Cause the ones on youtube make the UI look gross and cheap.
