Default Can newer Ignition Coils be used on 2006 550i

Hi, I have attempted to search through this forum but could not find an answer to my question.

My car is 2006 BMW 550i build on 1/2006 and I planning to get valve cover gasket service done and would like to replace the ignition coils at the same time.

RealOEM lists 3 different ignition coil part numbers for my car

12131712219 - Bosch up to 6/2009 - about $25 each

12137594938 - Listed as discontinued - Bosch about $25

12137594937 - the only OE BMW available @$55 and same as Bosch 0221504470 @$40

Does anyone know if I can use the 12137594937 Bosch coil on my 2006 550i

If the updated part fits my car is there any benefit?

I don't think it matters. Just changed one on my wife's 2009 X5 with the latest part number, which was not the one that came with the car. I asked the BMW pars guy and he said it's compatible - not that he is an absolute authority. I installed it and it works fine. Car was giving misfire cyl 2 code and check engine light every so often and that's gone now.

Thanks for the info. I found out my ignition coil tubes are leaking oil on to the coils so all of them may need to be replaced. I am just not sure that it is a good idea to get older $25 a pop coils.
