Brake torquing..good or bad?
Hello Everyone,
What are your thoughts on brake torquing? Is it bad for the engine, transmission, and brakes? Or… if done in moderation, for the occasional jump off the line, is it not such a bad thing?

Not bad for engine or brakes as much as your transmission, more so the torque converter. I guess it really depends on how long your holding it. I personally wouldn't bother.

You shouldn't do it for more than 10 seconds, at that point the transmission fluid starts overheating and damage can happen. It puts the most load on your engine mounts so that's another reason to avoid it.
I've drag raced my other car, but I've replaced all the mounts/bushings, and I change the ATF every 15K on it, so it can handle it.

Good to know... I wouldn't want to damage anything by being stupid.
How is launch control different from brake torqueing? Is launch control an electronic function?
