So I got the possessed a/c problem that was ridiculously common and recalled in the e39 and was wondering if someone could tell me where the resistor/blower regulator is on this car--I did a search on google and this site and doesnt seem this is a common issue on the e60 as I couldnt find one post on this with a location or diy

any help would be great!

The Final Stage Unit was replaced by the Blower Regulator in the E60. Replacement looks to be a challenge.

It's under the dash in between the idrive display and glove box. I've seen a pic of an E60
dash with the top removed. I'll try and find it again and post it.

I'd say the bulk of that document is showing the area under the iDrive screen (center of dash)...

got oil changed today and had them give me a quote--780 dollars to change it!! Ridiculous---you just canot own these cars without a warranty--that is a damn 100 dollar resistor-it is bad enough parts are costly but labour if you want it done at a dealer--warranty of some kind is a must

Diamond, did you end up replacing it?

I owned an E46 and i had this crazy fan going on, so after little research i found what is the problem and how to take care of it. Now that i bought E60, it seems that the problem is following me! I have a crazy blower again....
