My Ride: 2008 535xi Standard package
Afordable scanner for diy.
Hello
I have a 2008 535xi that I want work on myself. I know this has probably has been ask many times, but here goes. What is a scanner that I can buy to use to register a new battery that I will install, that doesn't break the bank. Also maybe go deeper with troubleshooting other problems.
Thanks

Take a look at the BMWhat app for smart phones or iPads. Battery registration, error code reading with additional coding options...

+1 on the BMWhat app/adapter. Their customer service is beyond stellar and it serves multiple purposes from coding a few things on the car to diagnosing fault codes as well as battery registration. I have been told you can do more with your laptop and those programs but can be a little more difficult to use. I love the BMWhat app but am in the process of learning how to code with the other programs.
