2010 550i Help!! Limp Mode Fix
I have a 2010 550i and it goes into limp mode at random times has been to the dealer and they have replaced the EDK harness twice once in Nov 2015 and again in May 2016. They have recently replaced the throttle body/actuator and MAP sensor and it continues to malfunction in the same manner. If I am driving on the freeway I lose full throttle and while I can put it into DS and manually shift through gears and maintain 60- 70 MPH it doesnt display any faults until I exit and speed drops below 20-30 MPH at which time it usually displays DSC, DBC, start assistant faults but 2-3 times it has not displayed faults until stopping and start through a couple of red lights. I can stop and shut it off for about 30 seconds restart and it does ok for a short distance. It seems to be more prevalent late in the day when it is hot although I drove it for 40-50 miles last Saturday in the heat of the day and it did not malfunction. I have tried isolate the event to specific scenarios but it it so random and inconsistent at times and predictable at others. I can drive to work in the mornings about 17 miles one way without incident but in the evenings on the way home it will go into limp mode everyday within the same 1/2 to 3/4 mile stretch. It stores the following codes retrieved with INPA software - LDM/ICM 2 Error stored 62E2, 62D4; DSC 3 Error stored 6E83, 5F77, 5F12. Has anyone experienced these symptoms or have any suggestions. I have found a local independent shop that I have taken it to once but he could not duplicate the problem after having it for a day. Any help or insight would be a blessing, Thanks guys.
