Default 2004 E60 SOS Malfunction

I've had the dreaded SOS malfunction for a few months now. I've tried unhooking the battery for 30 seconds (did nothing) and tried rebooting the iDrive with the vol/eject keys (does not reboot).

Is it worth unplugging the battery for a full 10 minutes?

Is my car (2004 MY, October 2003 build) not capable of doing an iDrive reset? I hold the buttons down for a minute or more and nothing happens. I've tried it with car on and off.

I don't have BMW assist, so I may just have to code this thing out (still don't have my NCSExpert set up because of Windows 8). There's no harm in leaving it, just the annoying warning message every single time I start the car and the constant triangle warning.

I've also tried clearing all codes in INPA, which NEVER clears the SOS code.

Digging up my old thread, because I'm still trying to clear the damn SOS error years later.

Has anyone ever come across TEL error code "a37a"? I can't find anything about this online, yet this seems to be what is causing my SOS error.

I've also read that coding out the SOS hardkey option does not always clear the error. Any thoughts on how to proceed?

So I've tried playing around with removing my Sirius module and removing the TCU, as neither work and I don't like Sirius. Now, my iPod doesn't work, but my SOS warning goes away at startup and comes on after 5 minutes of driving (it used to come on immediately).

Curiously, why would my TCU have a Bluetooth logo if it never really had it?

Determined that the MOST loop must be kept intact for the iPod to work. Will be bypassing that with a loop bypass.

So, I had the friendly folks at Bimmer-Tech.net try and code out my SOS error. Eventually, after several tries, they were able to turn off the error! He indicated he turned off the GPS and some other things, but was worried about the SGM module, indicating that if the error comes back, it's the SGM module, not the TCU.
