I have a deposit on a 5454i now but the dealer is learning so of the options as we go along. Does anyone know if the US model will have a tire pressure monitoring system?

From what I have heard if you choose runflat tires you will have tire pressure monitor... non-runflats will not have monitor. I am not sure if all 545 come with runflats standard or not)

According to the US E60 brochure the 545iA comes with all-season tires. No mention whether they are run flats.

The 545iA with the sport package and the 545i 6-speed come with high performance run-flats. All spares are space-saver.

I've read that all space-saver wheels with incorporate tire pressure monitors, but I can't seem to locate any mention about it in the brochure. I think it would be a must considering the fact that you would not be able to tell visibly whether pressure in your run-flat tire was low.

According to the US brochure, all models will come with the pressure monitor for ALL tires. It will alert you if pressure changes by more then 30%.

According to this article the tyre pressure system is standard. My local dealer (UK) told me it works by detecting a change in the rotational speed of the tyre (as compared to others, I guess). Hope this helps.

I can confirm that a tyre pressure monitor is included when you order the car with run-flats.
However the pressure monitor only alarms when the pressure is lost or very low. You still have to check the pressure regulary to make sure that you have the correct pressure. So it?s not like the 7-series RDC where you can read the exact pressure in PSI for each wheel on the info display.

I must be blind, I can't seem to locate anything in the US E60 brochure concerning the tire pressure monitor. Could you please direct me to that statement.

Thanks...
