My Problem

For those not familiar the info is in the link above. Now a little about how I got here.
I don't know how any of your experiences were, but I will never go to Southbay Autohaus again. They first told me a used CCC unit would run me $950 + labor (even though I was looking at realoem at the time and saw they went for $845 NEW!!!), but they said they could get me a "deal" on a TCU (bullshit). Then I went out and got the parts separately - CCC $630 used, TCU $150 used, Aux Input cable $60 - so total was $840 for parts. I texted Southbay again to see how much it would be to install everything and he said $500, which happened to be the exact amount on the quote I got from Crevier for labor for replacing the CCC - which kind of defeats the purpose of going to an indy shop doesn't it?

Thanks to member nomis_nehc (Simon) who recommended Soley Bimmer in Mission Viejo, Chad over there is a great guy and VERY honest. He did the work in about 3.5 hours, charged me $300 and everything works perfectly except the one thing he couldn't do - update the CCC for the new TCU via the fiber link, which he didn't do and told me so. He told me he'll let me know when he gets one and it will be a quick coding so no additional charge. Chad is THE MAN!!!!

Honestly, if the only options were dealer then I would have just updated to the CIC. Especially since the stealer wanted $1400 for the TCU, $1900 for the CCC and $250 for the Aux Input.

Mine is still holding up but, I'm sure it is just a matter of time before it is my turn.

HAHAHAHA yep, Aux input works perfectly, even attached a small velcro pad to my dash to keep my iPod in easy reach and not moving all over the place

Nice, glad to hear it worked out for you John. My experiences with Chad is only a few times, but he seems to be a stand up guy. I spoke to a couple of his guys, and they're real nice people as well.

So no exact confirmation on the TCU yet hmmmm? Hopefully we'll hear the good word from you soon.
