Mine doesn't - but isn't that the whole point of a retrofit? The cars with the soft-close feature do have motorized trunks (at least the 7s do... no idea about the E60 since I've never seen one with soft close). That's the only aspect I really care about anyway - E60 doors are light enough that soft-close isn't necessary. The trunk on the other hand is a pain in the ass to close without touching the paint - if I could motorize that (taking 7-series or F10 parts if necessary) that'd be excellent.

I actually have that on my "list" of things to look into. Been on on my workshop cabinet for a year.

I don't have any 7s to look at to be able to see if the trunk matches enough to try a retrofit.

The way your question was worded seemed like I was missing something and you were already with a motor.

Thank you so much!
Wiring is very easy to fit, you only need to remove door panels on all doors, remove the lining on the doorstep, remove the cover plate under the seat belt.
You can read TIS:My link

The contacts you can get from used wiring on the E39 or E60,E61,E90....I chose this way because I could not buy this contacts separately.

Great work and excellent DIY.

I did this on my old E60 and just did it on my F10. It's about as complex as installing a speaker. Not hard at all. On the E60 you have it easy because as long as you have the appropriate brackets the modules bolt right in. On the F10 the front doors have annoying 'crash pads' that must be replaced or modified for the motor to mount to the door.

actually quite easy to close boot without touching paintwork , pull boot lid down with handle located inside boot lid ,the quickly use same hand to apply pressure to rear number plate to steady boot closing . very easy to do try it
