Here's the pic of mine ... a bit blurry as I tried to capture it w/o flash ... I just noticed my red clown nose a tad bit more flatten

Look like you got the LCD style, the darken opening around the compass in my mirror is almost invisible it makes the dot matrix letters kinda like a see thru.
BlaSTiWi,
Needless to say I'm not gonna change this anytime soon. Ha ha. But could you post a pic of your mirror whenever you get a chance.

Cheers.

Nice job I did the same thing when add the comms line for the Auto-dim, that part of the screen must be really week.

Yes Georgieb, I couldn`t believe it, £75 down the toilet for my insurance excess and a new screen.

Good morning JoseSportM,
As I've come to learn from others. Some E60s have the harness pre-wired in the car as of 2007. Homelink functionality resides in the mirror itself only and all that is needed is power (VCC) for it to function which is available in the harness to begin with. Did the mirror you found have the compass function also? If you are going to change this you may as well get the best mirror replacement you can find. The pricing is very similar.

Hi Georgieb

Thanks for the help

I asked because i thought since i must have power to autodimming maybe i will have power to homelink.
The mirror ii found its only autodimming + alarm + homelink.

I hope it will be plug and play

Compass is not important, i dont use that.

The price i found its 100-150 more shipping cost to switzerland

I'm pretty sure it will be JoseSportM. If it doesn't then routing a new harness is not that big of a deal. The price you have is good also. I was really fortunate to find mine on eBay for $140.00 + shipping. It did take some time though.
