What do you guys think of this, he has the one for my tranny but remanufactured sounds weird to me how can he remanufacture solenoids, OK the guy admitted that the solenoids are used, tested but good, and the valve bodies are just really good. So pretty much you're buying used solenoids for $550.

Good news I just called to double check and as of this month the price on the 1068 298 044 kit which I believe is mine for the 6HP19 with M-shift has come down to 269.75 so forget about the used or EBay Kits

I would never put a used set of solenoids in my transmission.

I wouldn't, either, what's the point? I wouldn't buy transmission parts off of eBay, either.

Hey Txag I sent you a private male asking you on your experience with the Motorcraft ATF Transmission Fluid Mercon SP - XT-6-QSP which according to the lab results is virtually similar to the L6 original. I noticed that you put it in last year so you should have some experience. Don't know many that have used it and told the story. So any leaks, problems shifting or codes? This is the cheapest I found it plus shipping so at about $7.40 per quart

I have had zero issues using the Mercon SP. I did the research and found that it is chemically identical to the ZF Lifeguard 6. I bought the Mercon SP at O'Reilly Auto down the street from my house for about $7.50/quart.

Funny
Hey KyleB with all the transgender crap going on I got confused, glad you picked it up. Long live the Stalinist democratic party and their patners in crime the repubs I think pretty soon we'll use the bushes again let the special people use the facilities. Just kidding sort of.
Hey Txag thanks for the input already ordered online and after a long chat with advanced auto parts here in L.A. I got them to match the price that Ryder Fleet has online at $5.79 It was funny first they said we only match reputable sources, then not Ryder, then we'll do a one time exception, then no free shipping on hazardous materials then ok sir we'll ship it for free x15 quarts for a total of $94.50 including shipping. So a good place to consider for future reference.
And I did notice a lot of people use this brand and the redline D6 with no issues.
I just want to know if you would do a flush through the tranny cooler lines you know by connecting 2 hoses to supply bottle and pan to flush the junk the normal way(at least normal for all the other cars) where would the hose connection be?

Zing!!! good one. I share your sentiments 100%.

best of luck with your car.

No, I never flushed my gearbox using that method. ZF just recommends drain and refills using good ol' gravity, although flushing the gearbox using the cooler lines isn't a bad idea IMO.

I drained and filled my fluid twice: once for maintenance, and one more time about a month later when I changed the solenoids and internal seals. You have to have a special tool to release the transmission lines going to and from the cooler and I didn't feel that I would gain that much by draining the lines. I figured that by the time I flushed and filled 2X I had most of the old fluid out.

Alternatively, another member here did a flush using a 5-gallon bucket, tubing and the old drain pan. This looks like a slick process:
