David, you're absolutely right about making this quick and easy repair as part of a scheduled maintenance program. These items wear, just like brake pads so it should of been included IMO. Well, hopefully we get the word out so other members can benefit by adding this simple DIY to their own maintenance schedule.

No luck on Real OEM but I did find this:

http://www.velocitymotorcars.com/pressure-...-7-501-566.html

I'm not sure if this will work on my 06' N52 engine but it appears our "Pressure Regulating Valve" is contained within... Can anyone confirm. I'd like to do this when I change my plugs soon. Rough idle is killing me.

Hey rictor,

sorry about the difficulty finding your part. I tried searching also but to no avail, so i have no idea what yours should look like. what i did noticed is that your vehicle is not among those listed in the site so use caution. while searching the net i've only noticed one type with all the same part number, just like the one you showed so that site might not have been undated. I did read somewhere that unless this part is cracked or broken, this valve may not need replacing as BMW improved upon on this item. It may look like a call to your dealer is in order.

I just had another member pm me and shared his repair (on his 545) after reading this thread and so far it solved his rough idle. As i told this member, hearing things like this is more rewarding to me than doing the repair itself! this is what this forum is all about, helping others to help oneself.

i hope you're able to resolve your rough idle without having to go to your dealer. good luck.

Thanks LabRat. I also noticed that the N52 E60 wasn't listed. Hopefully plugs will help solve my problem and with the aging of these cars more information will become available.

I did the ccv valve on my 2004 525...it is definately harder to get to because its under the motor.... i would advise you to check your ignition coils first before doing this install...
but if its not the coils i would definately recommend this repair...it took my gas mileage back to its orignal mpg...mind you i have 192000miles on my 525... i will post the info i used to help me...they have gave great pics...oh and i brought all new hoses also, its very time consuming getting the hoses out without cracking one or two so to make it easy i brouth new ones and i didnt have to be so gentle taking the old ones out...

I bought the CODEKEY for $34.99 at COSTCO. My Increased Emission fault(P1443) and CEL were erased. Drove the car for 30+ miles and no fault.
I didn't replace the Pressure Regulator Valves since they are still in good condition with no trace of oil sludge or tear. It saved me a trip to the dealer or to
EuroRev to have the car checked by Jags today, before he goes back to Fremont. Thanks again Allen.
