ahh didn't see that he wasn't running anything in the socket. i thought he might run an inverter to run a laptop etc. that usually blows fuses. if nothing is connected to any of the sockets then yeah i'd def. get it checked out

I strongly disagree with the above advice...
If a fuse keeps blowing, there's a reason for it (like a short). Going to a higher fuse will not solve the problem and could cause a larger problem (like a fire or something) and, to compound the problem further, it would very likely void the warranty if, in fact, something terrible happened...

I had the same problem with my 745i. Lighter fuses blowing all the time. My dealer finally told me that car chargers for cell phones and everything else the kids use are pushed too far into the lighter socket, causing a short. He said you might have to separate the spring from the bottom of the socket, which is causing the short. After that, replace the fuse, and be careful not to push these chargers too far in. I do it slowly until the light comes on and stop there. The service departments see this everyday, but it took me several visits before they told me about the problem.

something is shorting definitely. u gotta check the wiring. check the obvious. Mebbe the cigarette lighter socket has melted, went out of shape, etc. Disconnect the cigarette lighter and put in the fuse and see if it blows. If it blows, move on elsewhere. YEs it;s a tedious process. GOod luck.
