ianbmwe60, to determine if its a resistor you need .. firstly you need to know what the fault is. It could be a number of factors causing your airbag /seatbelt light to come on, so rather than taking random guesses..., start from scratch and get the car plugged into diagnostic. If the diagnostic says BST or battery safety terminal then yes you can use a resistor as mentioned in earlier posts on this thread.

if the code is something else then you will need to research that specific issue to find a bypass or cure.

"it said low voltage is that true"

whate are you referring to whats 'it'

have you had the car plugged in using the OBD socket?
If you have then post the diagnostic code on here...if it matches the ones already mentioned in the thread then a resistor will work.

if you havent then get it plugged into a diagnostic computer/code reader before going any further into investigation/trying a fix.

On the screen when I start my car it says "passenger restraint system malfunction" and there are two lights on my dash, the seatbelt light and airbag light. Should I put the resistor in series or parallel and what size?

like i keep saying

those lights could be caused due a number of various issues.

so get the car plugged into a diagnostic code reader 1st . I used the c110 reader, it works very well for E60, reads most modules and erases codes

when you know the code then compare to the ones on this thread and see if they are the same.

Otherwise you will be guessing and spending money forever

1) FIND THE EXACT FAULT CODE
2) FIND THE CURE

Will this clear a 93AF airbag fault code on 2006 E60.

Thanks!
