I purchased a CPO and ddn't notice the smoke odor when I took it for a test drive. However, I tried everything to get it out. I have tried vinegar, coffee, shampooing, baking soda, and Ozone spray. Even replaced the cabin air filters. What else can I do?

You need to find someone with an ozone machine. Let the machine run for 2 or 3 hours and the smell will be gone.

My Ride: I have an 05 545i. It's a manual with a few options. This is my first BMW but I don't know how I'll ever be able to switch to something else.

For the vents you could spray some 1Z Klima-Care, though that probably won't remove all the smell.

You could follow up with some Chemical Guys Sofast Odor eater, i've heard good things about it.

I had the same issue with my car - I bought it CPO and it came with a nasty cigar smell. I got the dealer to replace the filters and clean out the A/C system which helped a bit. I then got the ozone treatment for an hour - that helped a bit too - but I found a detailer who left the ozone machine in the car overnight and then did a detailed interior clean-up - that has removed most of the smell. Now I only occasionally catch a whif of the smell - particularly on hot days.
